ASHLESS FILTER PAPERS FOR QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS

DESCRIPTION

Ashless filters (approx. 0.004 %), recommended for quantitative analysis and routine gravimetric tests

  • Made of super-refined cotton linters and cellulose; acid-washed
  • α-cellulose content above 95 %
  • For analytical applications, routine quantitative and /or gravimetric procedures

Gravimetric, Analysis. Type of quantitative analysis that involves the precipitation of a compound that can be weighed and analysed once dried.

For critical filtering processes, we recommend hardened, ashless filters, which have greater resistance to both humidity and aggressive chemical components. (Grade: FP1505 - FP1506 - FP1507).

APPLICATIONS

Ref. FP589/1 – black
  • Determination of ash content and PCB contamination in foodstuffs.
  • Processing (ashing) fruit juice samples for photometric determinations (e.g. phosphate.
  • Coarse flocs and gelatinous precipitates : Fe(OH)3, Al(OH)3, Cr(OH)3, CuS, Bi2S3, SiO2.
  • Determination of heavy metals in water analysis.
Ref. FP589/2 – white
  • Determination of sand content and of grade of flour in foodstuffs.

  • Analysis of alkaline earth carbonates.
  • Cement industry: Blaine test (regulations UNE 80-112-91 and EN-196-6) and other chemical analyses performed on cements.
Ref. FP589/4 – yellow
  • For medium fine crystalline precipitates.
  • Specially for determination of fat.
Ref. FP589/5 – red
  • CaC2O4, BaCrO4, PbSO4 (cold precipitates).
  • Determination of fats and oils in water (floatable based on the trichlorofluorethane method or totally based on partition-gravimetric method).
  • General gravimetric analysis for many components in cements, mud, iron and steel products.
  • Soil analysis: basic filtering process for the separation of solid particles from water extractions.
  • Determination sulphates, carbonates and organic materials.
Ref. FP589/6 – green
  • For fine crystalline precipitates.
  • CaC2O4, PbSO4, BaSO4 (hot precipitates).
Ref. FP589/3 – blue
  • For very fine crystalline precipitates.
  • BaSO4 (hot precipitates), PbSO4, ZnS, NiS.
  • Oils and fats analysis of animal or vegetable origin: determination of the content in soluble impurities.
  • Treatment of drinking water and residuals: determination of chemical elements and some radioactive substances by using gravimetric, photometric, colorimetric and precipitation methods.
  • Soil analysis (soluble sulphates)
